Burned out 4-in-1 unit?
Let me rebuild your E-Flite Blade CX/CP/CP Pro or Esky Honeybee 3-in-1 or 4-in-1!
After this Blade CP crashed into a tree, a radio glitch caused it to run full-throttle, overheating and destroying the transistors inside the 4-in-1. One of the transistors got hot enough to desolder itself from the board. The residue is flux that was left over from manufacturing. Flux is slightly conductive and can flow at high temperatures, causing more short circuits.
This is the same PC board after repair work. The transistors and the freewheel diode at the left have been replaced. The soldering flux has been removed. The board was inspected for thermal damage. Some minor soldering flaws from manufacturing were also corrected. Replacement components are identical factory replacements or parts with equal or better specifications.
This repair requires precision soldering equipment and medium to advanced skill, but you can do it yourself. I would ask $20 for the above repair. I’m a MIL-SPEC- and NASA-trained rework technician with the gear to handle surface-mount electronics, and I have all the parts on hand right now. But if you would rather do it yourself and just need a hint, email or PM me and I will tell you where to find the replacements and how to proceed with the repair.
