Dan Barlow's Webpage

I currently use the GNU Image Manipulation Program for pixel graphics. I have also used and taught Adobe Photoshop, and have learned many other bitmap editors.

I include the following processes in Pixel Graphics:

  • Enhancement: Color grading, cropping, focus sharpen or blurring, gamut stretching, rotation and scaling
  • Touchup: Erasing power lines and blemishes, removing redeye, cloning texture, gradient focus for depth of field effects
  • Modification: Adding or removing significant image elements
  • Creation: Coloring pixels to create an image element that doesn't already exist
  • Animation: Arranging image elements differently in succeeding images to present the illusion of motion

I have taught much more talented individuals than myself. I would be able to do pixel graphics as an element of a job, but I would not be appropriate as a full time graphic artist.

I have worked with concept art to reduce it to a form compatible with different computer environments, and those efforts have received acknowledgement in many aspects of my work.

I prepared the images for this site.
